Parking: After the lava field you will come to a small parking lot turn right for a larger lot closer to the bay. This is a dirt and rock parking lot so wear your sneakers. It is private property to the right of the barrier. You may see people tanning there, but the ranger will be by soon to kick them out.

Rest Rooms: There are 2 portable toilets in the parking lot.

Where to snorkel: Entry can be difficult in this area as it is all lava. Be careful and wear shoes. Look for a spot to the right of shore. While you can walk north over the lava for easier entry, this is private property. The whole area is great for snorkeling with the best to the right in the lagoon. Be aware of strong currents and swells. This is for more advanced snorkelers as the surf conditions can change quickly.

What to look for: We saw many varieties of fish. Wrasse, Tang, Moorish Idol, Convict, lionfish, you name it it was here. Dolphins can be spotted all along this coast as it is a protected resting area for them.
