Central Maui doesn't have any beaches, but plenty of attractions. The main destination is Iao Valley State Park (free admission) famous for its towering pinnacle and many hiking trails. On the way back stop at the Hawaiian Cultural Center to view the gardens and Japanese architecture. Many boat tours start out the Maaala Harbor, like the Sunset Dinner Cruise and Molokini Snorkel Tour. The Maui Ocean Center and aquarium are located at the harbor as well. The Tropical Plantation has a train tour that will take you around the plantation to view and learn about the many tropical flowers and fruits the produce.
The drive to Iao Valley National Park will take you through the sugar fields up to a beautiful lush tropical valley. The park is free and has many hiking trails for all ages. The Tropical Plantation is a working plantation producing avocados, macadamia nuts, pineapples, mangos, coffee, and other fruits and vegetables. There is a train take will take you on a tour of the plantation. The grounds are well kept will a lake, ducks, botanical garden and more. The gift shop sells all of their products. More Info...
