The Ke'anae Peninsula turnout is about halfway to Hana. Look for the sign about a 1/2 mile past mile marker 16 and take the narrow windy road to the left.
The entire peninsula has a rugged lava shoreline. The Ke'anae Lookout is a nice place to stop to take pictures and stretch your feet. Don't go in the water as the surf and rocky shoreline is very dangerous. Do stop at Aunt Sandy's for some homemade banana bread. Further down the road you will come to a kids activity field. This is a popular spot for local and There is usually some kind of local fair or carnival going on (weekends). The old Lanakila Ihiihi O Iehowa Ona Kava Church and cemetery are worth exploring.
