Molokini Crater
Molokini Crater is actually located off the southern shores of Maui. Most charter boats like the Pride of Maui leave out of Maalaea Harbor, so that is why it is listed here ( there are a couple of small boat tours that leave out of Kihei and Makena).
The Molokini Crater tour takes you out to a crater mostly submerged in water. The trip takes about an hour to reach the crater, stopping to follow dolphins if spotted. This area is the perfect spot for beginning snorkelers as the water is crystal clear and the fish abundant and huge. Your boat does drive around the crater while your guide gives historical information and facts about the crater. Most charters stop for turtles in the Wailea or Makena area on the way back.
