Paia
For a lot of tourists Paia, located on the North shore is the last place to fill up the gas tank, eat and get ready for the trip to Hana. The town is worth visiting (no matter what your itinerary is) with some very nice shops and restaurants. Mama's Fish House is one of the top rated restaurants in Maui. Paia has 2 main beaches - Baldwin and Hookipa. Baldwin Beach is a nice family beach with all the facilities. Hookipa Beach is one of the top wind surfing beaches in the world.
