Day 6 East Maui
On Friday we took a trip to East Maui via the Road to Hana. since we had our grandson with us we decided to just drive to the Garden of Eden ( about 1/3 of the way to Hana). We stopped at Twin Falls on the way to the garden. after hiking the Garden we headed back to Hookipa Beach and Baldwin beach.
Twin Falls
Twin Falls was running (which is not always the case) . By the time we got back to the car, the lot was overflowing. Slide Show
Garden of Eden
The Garden of Eden is a huge park with plenty to see. We followed the the trails to 2 waterfalls, through a bamboo forest, and a duck pond. Cameron liked the painted eucalyptus trees and the paper bark tree. Slide Show
Hookipa Beach
We stopped at Hookipa Beach, located 5 miles east of Paia, to view the wind surfers. To my surprise there weren't any, but we found 15 turtles resting on the beach. Slide Show
Baldwin Beach Park
Just south of Paia is Baldwin Beach Park. This is another great family beach with bbqs, tables, shade, life guard, rest rooms and more. I just stopped to take some pics. We would have stayed but we couldn't find parking in Paia and everyone was starving. Slide Show
Dinner - Pizza
We finally made it back to Kihei stopping at Shaka Pizza for our late lunch. Later on that evening we ventured out for some shaved ice. Slide Show
