Day 3 Makena Beaches
We got up early had pancakes, packed the car and headed off to south Poolenalena Beach. After some snorkeling and boogie boarding we kept going south all the way down to La Perouse Bay. We ate dinner at the Thai Bistro and relaxed at Keawakapu Beach enjoying the sunset.
South Poolenalena Beach
The South Poolenalena Beach is Hidden behind the Makena Surf Condos. There is a small parking lot and a path through the condos to the beach. The snorkeling was poor at the shore so Cameron grabbed his boogie board and hit the waves. I snorkeled further out towards Chang's beach. I noticed some kayaks parked and headed toward them. While snorkeling I almost ran into a large turtle. Slide Show
La Perouse Bay
La Perouse Bay is the farthest south you can drive in Maui. After driving through a huge lava field we made it to the Parking lot. The water was very blue and turquoise . We spent 2 hours hiking along the shore exploring the tide pools. Slide Show
